What is the cost of classes?

Is attending fundamentals required if I’ve danced casino before?

No, however, we understand that instructors can teach the same thing in different ways (talking about you, Guapea!) We want all our students to understand our methods, technique, and how we approach casino as we build on these same concepts in our intermediate hour. As instructors, we like to ensure everyone is on the same page and familiar with the Palenke way :)

We love a good rueda! (Who doesnt?!) But we recognize that most social dances occur with a partner and not in a rueda. We’re really invested in developing casino dancers and having our students enjoy themselves when they’re out dancing the night away. Put simply, our focus is on cultivating dancers who understand what they’re doing so they can confidently lead and follow both during and outside of classes and ruedas. While dancing in a rueda has its benefits, learning primarily this way can hinder our ability to think autonomously, keep timing, develop musicality, and incorporate other aspects of Cuban dance into our social dancing.

TLDR: We believe that becoming proficient in casino first facilitates an easier transition to rueda, which we’ll occasionally cover in the intermediate hour and workshops.

Will we do rueda de casino?
